Terms of Service

Nexa Slide · Effective 2026-10-12 · Last updated 2026-10-12

These Terms govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between SosomLab (the “Company”) and you regarding the use of Nexa Slide (the “Software”).

1. Definitions

  1. “Software” means the Nexa Slide slide engine distributed by the Company as source code, including its local server, browser editor (Studio), PPTX exporter, design templates, starter content, and helper scripts.
  2. “User” or “you” means anyone who downloads, installs, or uses the Software.
  3. “Workspace” means a folder you choose in which the Software stores your content, decks, requests, backups, and exports.
  4. “AI Tool” means a third-party AI product you install and run yourself to work with a Workspace, such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, or Cursor.
  5. “Generated Content” means slides, text, images, or files produced or modified in a Workspace by an AI Tool or by the Software’s automated features.

2. Effect and Changes

  1. These Terms take effect when you download, install, or use the Software.
  2. The Company may amend these Terms within the limits permitted by applicable law. Amendments and their effective date will be posted on this page; material changes will be announced at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Software after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.

3. License

  1. The Software is provided under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and sell copies of the Software free of charge, including for commercial purposes, provided that the copyright notice and license text are included.
  2. The full license text is published in the Software’s source repository and prevails over this section in case of conflict. Nothing in these Terms restricts the rights the MIT License grants you.
  3. Third-party components bundled with or used by the Software (such as open-source fonts and libraries) are subject to their own licenses, listed in the repository’s THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md.

4. Nature of the Software

  1. The Software runs on your own computer. Its server accepts connections only from 127.0.0.1, and the Company provides no account, hosting, cloud storage, or AI service in connection with it.
  2. The Software does not itself call any AI API and sends no data to the Company. What it stores and when it may use the network are described in the Privacy Policy.
  3. Your content is kept only in your Workspaces. The Software keeps up to 50 automatic backups per deck inside the Workspace, but these are not a substitute for your own backups: if a Workspace is deleted or damaged, the Company has no way to recover it. Backing up your Workspaces is your responsibility.
  4. The Software is pre-release software (version 0.x). Features, file formats, templates, and commands may change without notice, and compatibility of Workspaces between versions is not guaranteed.

5. AI Tools

  1. AI Tools are separate products provided by third parties. Your use of an AI Tool is governed solely by the agreement between you and its provider. The Company is not a party to that agreement and is not responsible for the AI Tool’s operation, availability, data handling, or output.
  2. You are responsible for any fees, subscriptions, or usage charges incurred with an AI Tool or its provider, including usage triggered automatically while an AI Tool is watching a Workspace for edit requests.
  3. You are responsible for deciding what content an AI Tool may read and send to its provider, and for ensuring you have the right to share that content.
  4. Commands and changes that an AI Tool carries out in your Workspace or elsewhere on your computer are performed by the AI Tool at your direction. Review and approve them according to the AI Tool’s own safeguards; the Company is not responsible for their results.

6. Your Content and Generated Content

  1. You retain whatever rights you have in the content you place in a Workspace. The Company claims no rights in your content or in Generated Content.
  2. You are solely responsible for your content and for Generated Content, including its accuracy, its compliance with applicable law, and that it does not infringe the rights of others (copyright, trademarks, portrait rights, privacy, and the like). This includes images, logos, and fonts you add.
  3. The Company does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of Generated Content. AI Tools may produce incorrect, outdated, or fabricated information. Review all Generated Content before presenting, publishing, or relying on it.
  4. The Software’s layout checks and rendering comparisons help you find problems but do not guarantee that a PPTX will look identical in every application, version, or font environment.

7. Trademarks

Microsoft and PowerPoint are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies. Claude, Codex, Gemini, and Cursor are trademarks of their respective owners. The Software is an independent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of these companies. References to them describe compatibility only.

8. Your Obligations

You must not:

  1. remove or alter the copyright notice and license text when redistributing the Software;
  2. distribute a modified version of the Software in a way that could mislead others into believing it is an official release of the Company;
  3. expose the Software’s local server to other networks or to the Internet by modifying it or using forwarding tools without understanding and accepting the security consequences;
  4. use the Software to create or distribute content that infringes the rights of others or is prohibited by applicable law;
  5. engage in any other conduct prohibited by applicable law or these Terms.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, as also stated in the MIT License. The Company does not warrant that the Software will operate without interruption or error, that exported files will open or display correctly in any particular version of PowerPoint or other software, or that it will be compatible with any particular operating system, Python version, browser, or AI Tool.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, for loss of data, profits, or business, for loss or corruption of Workspaces, decks, or backups, for inaccurate or infringing Generated Content, for fees charged by AI Tool providers, or for actions performed by AI Tools, arising from the use of or inability to use the Software. Liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for intent or gross negligence, is not limited.

11. Discontinuation

The Company may change or discontinue distribution of the Software or any of its features at any time. Copies you already have may continue to be used under these Terms and the MIT License, and your Workspaces remain yours.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes arising in connection with the Software shall be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
